My wife and I feel very lucky that we found Matthew for my marriage green card process. From the initial phone call I could tell he was very passionate about his job and of helping people in general. Even before we hired him he spent a considerable time guiding us through the process and making all the steps very clear.

Our case was a bit unusual on top of being held during the pandemic, yet Matthew was always eager to find all the relevant information and solutions to the unforeseen situations with great enthusiasm and care while inspiring a great deal of confidence throughout the whole process.

Two years later, we had the green card interview for which we felt well prepared, and passed it with ease. A week later I received my green card.

We're very thankful for all Matthew's support and cannot recommend him enough.

My spouse and I would like to thank Matthew Udall for all he has done for us. From getting our fiancee visa to getting my spouse Green Card. Without him this would have been a difficult process.

We live in Alabama and our interview was scheduled for March 9th 2020. Me and my spouse got up early that morning to be there. We were about 10 minutes away from our destination and received a phone call that all interviews were cancelled due to the Covid-19.

On September 3rd 2020 our interview was rescheduled. We still had to wear a face mask because of the Covid-19 was still an issue. The staff there was very friendly. When we went back with the interviewer, he was polite to my spouse and I. He made it so we felt at ease and not nervous. The interview went well. My spouse was approved on that day for her Green Card. 11-days later she received her card in the mail.

I want to thank Matthew Udall once again for all he has done for us. With his help and all. He made sure we knew what to expect at the interview and what all we needed from the beginning to now. I will be looking forward to using his assistance again in the future.

Matt is the epitome of a professional, ethical and skilled lawyer who is a master of his craft. He pays attention to the minutiae, points things out to you along the way and offering anticipatory guidance. He truly advocates for you. I would definitely choose Matt again and recommend him with this highest level of recommendation. Look no further for a lawyer than Matt.

I first contacted Matthew Udall in May of 2014. I was interested in obtaining a K-1 visa for my future wife from Canada. After a phone interview with Matthew, we hired him.

Shortly after he had all the questionnaires and evidence requirements, to our email box. It was time to go to work. When it came to Mr. Udall, his efficiency to produce documents very quickly for us to review, fill out or correct, was reassuring to me. This showed me his confidence in the overall knowledge of the entire K-1 visa process.

My wife was well prepared for her Consulate interview for her K-1 visa in Vancouver BC. Evidence binder in hand, she had a good idea as what to expect. It couldn't have gone more smoothly. We continued to use Matthew through the 2-year green card (adjustment to conditional permanent resident) the I-751 to remove the conditions and on our path to naturalization (N400) and US citizenship.

On April of 2019, after 5 years, my wife became a United States citizen. We are extremely happy to be finished and couldn't be more grateful to Matthew.

We highly recommend Matthew Udall to anyone seeking to go through this process of K1 visa/Green Card/Naturalization. For as complicated a process it was, we were never worried knowing we had him as our attorney.

Thank God for Matthew Udall! We filed for the adjustment of status on our own and got rejected four times! Twice the USCIS gave us the incorrect greencard! Matthew Udall worked with us through the entire process, coaching us and reassuring us every step of the way. NO ADDITIONAL FEES!!

He is easily reachable by phone or email. He takes the time to accept calls, answer our questions and keep us up to date about our case.

His diligence and perseverance are phenomenal. We truly appreciate his legal knowledge, efficiency, tenacity and attention to detail. We highly recommend him to anybody. If not for Matthew's perseverance and diligence, we would still be applying.

Earl & Karen Joy A. K-1 visa processed through the U.S. Consulate in Manila, Philippines. Conditional Permanent Resident status processed through the Fresno, CA USCIS office.

Note from Mr. Udall: After doing these cases for 23+ years, I thought I'd seen every way in which the USCIS could make mistakes but this one brought the bar down to a new low. I don't know why the USCIS kept incorrectly rejecting their DIY adjustment case they attempted in vain to file on their own... they were told their fees were incorrect when in fact they were correct. The USCIS accepted the case once I reworked it and filed it. But then when they issued the 2-year greencard the expiration date was incorrect.

I filed an I-90 and got the USCIS to waive the filing fee. Eventually the USCIS issued a "new" 2-year greencard but this time "both" the resident since date and expiration dates were incorrect! I filed another I-90, getting the filing fee waived again and asked for a supervisor to oversee the manufacture of the new card. My client needs a correct card when the time eventually comes to remove the conditions, and I wasn't going to "just accept the card and use the incorrect dates" as was suggested to my cliient from the Frenso and Bakersfield USCIS offices! Eventually another new card was issued, this time with the correct dates. It took an extra year of work and countless hours, but I was able to obtain a corrected card for my client.

Because I charge a flat rate fee, the client didn't pay any additional fees for the extra work required to fix the USCIS mistakes.

Mr. Udall is extremely thorough and communicative. He was very responsive to our needs. I asked him for references and he provided them and they checked out. His work with us was incredibly detailed, thorough and successful. We obtained our K-1 visa in 8 months successfully because of Mr. Udall's work. We are extremely grateful for his honesty, integrity, follow up, clear communication and attention to detail. I have recommended him many times already and will continue to do so.

Matthew is thorough, he knows the laws and is dedicated to making your case move through the system in a timely manner without interruption. He is always professional and is always looking out for your best interests. As a matter of fact, he saved my wife and I money on two different occasions. The first was filing an extension for her work card and the second instance was when we had our greencard interview. The USCIS agent informed us that Novy's medical had expired and that was the only delay in issuing the card. When I told Matthew, he wrote a letter questioning the validity of the agent's judgement, as a result we received a letter of action followed by a greencard, without having to go through a second medical exam, thus saving us $250.00 - $350.00

In conclusion, he is good at what he does and I would, and have, recommended him to friends and family.

Rodney and Novy Liza R. K-1 visa processed through the U.S. Consulate in Hong Kong. The I-485 for permanent resident status was processed at the Montgomery Alabama USCIS District Office.

Note from Mr. Udall: I love it when I get to teach the USCIS about their own rules they are attempting to not follow, while at the same time saving my clients money and the hassle of undergoing an unneeded government ordered medical exam.

In this case, at the spousal interview at the Montgomery Alabama USCIS office, the officer would not approve my client's greencard unless she went and had a full medical examination performed. What the officer apparently didn't know is that if someone enters the USA with a K-1 fiancee visa and had her overseas medical exam within a year of filing for the greencard; unless a Class A medical condition was found during the medical exam abroad, no new USCIS medical (from a civil surgeon in the USA) is required.

A well written and documented letter sent to the director of the Montgomery USCIS District Office not only resulted in approval without the new medical exam, it likely resulted in some training for that officer who didn't know the rules!

I will recommend Mr Matthew Udall, Attorney at Law to anybody and everybody who would want to file any form of immigration papers because he is so outstanding in the performance of this function. Since I started living in the U.S. I had made use of services of some attorneys, Mr Udall stands out because of the way he takes the services of his clients seriously. Mr Udall was recommended to me by an attorney I wanted to file my citizenship application but who declined my request because she said that distance from her office in San Jose to Sacramento is too far and will cost me much more. The attorney told me that she was going to use some criteria to find a good attorney for me and it turned out she got me an outstanding attorney in the person of Mr Matthew Udall. She had checked several attorneys in and around Sacramento against these criteria which she did not disclose to me. She however advised me to call Mr Udall whose telephone number she got from the internet search and gave to me.

My main aim of writing this letter of recommendation for Mr Udall is not jut that he helped me get my citizenship application approved but the way and manner he rendered his services to me. He picked every call personally, answered my questions promptly, allaying my fears in a way that gave me the confidence that he knew what he was doing. He carried me through the whole process, telling me the different stages of the application process right from the start to the Oath taking ceremony for the citizenship as is the case with mine.

I am so grateful to Mr Udall for the way he helped me and I do hereby urge him to continue the good work.

A lawyer you'll swear by. Not at! Continued...

Immigration can be overwhelming for most couples since it involves two different countries, time, distance and unavoidable legalities. The legal part is absolutely necessary and therefore unavoidable. That said, the only other element within one's control is how one manages the 'overwhelming' part.

Fortunately, choosing Matthew as our immigration attorney was one of the best decisions Andy - my now Husband and author of the recommendation 'A lawyer you'll swear by. Not at!' (posted on this website and also on Avvo - dated October 25, 2015) - and I have ever made. In doing so we completely got rid of the 'overwhelming' part.

Our K-1 Fiance Visa (the first step in the immigration process that allowed me to travel to the United States with the intention of marrying Andy) was approved and issued in 5 months. Thanks to Matthew, this was smooth and hassle free. (At this point, reading Andy's comments may help you understand the process and the pivotal role Matthew played).

The immigration process however does not end with the K-1 Visa. Once I entered the U.S. and we got married, we continued to work with Matthew, this time, to apply for an 'Adjustment of Status'. Despite both of us now being in the same country and this phase of immigration being less complicated than the K-1 Visa phase, Matthew's attention to us as clients and detail to his work continued to be professional. This is truly noteworthy and we will always appreciate the personal touch in the way Matthew managed our case from his articulate emails, preparatory phone calls, timely execution/ filing of important paperwork to updates and much more that ensured we were always one step ahead of the game. After we got married and I applied for an 'Adjustment of Status' - it took about 3 months for my EAD work card and (conditional) Permanent Resident Status to come through. The officer at the Spousal interview (the final stage just before approval) complimented us on how thorough our paperwork had been filed and that right there is the result of working with a good attorney for immigration! Did I mention, at no point did we ever feel overwhelmed, confused or intimidated by what would normally, understandably be a very overwhelming situation. All thanks to Matthew.

That said, while Matthew will do more than his fair share to ensure success rates in all his cases, it is equally important for the client to make sure they do their part (furnish information timely and accurately, complete tasks and processes needed of them etc) for the equation to work well.

We thoroughly enjoyed working with Matthew. He is one heck of an attorney who is passionate about his work, ensuring his clients will swear by and not at him!

A lawyer you’ll swear by. Not at!

That’s exactly how my fiancé and I would describe Mr. Udall in a sentence!

Filing the K-1 Fiancé Visa was something we did not want to take a risk with and hence retaining a lawyer of the highest caliber was of the utmost importance.

Matthew Udall, in managing our case throughout, has always been client focused and result driven. He is professional in his instructions and clear & concise in his advice. Despite having other clients and communicating with us across continents with different time zones, Matthew was always available when we needed him to clarify queries and next steps. We are grateful for his personal attention to our case.

Matthew is clearly passionate about his career and it shows in the way he respects the law to the letter, but also in the way he enjoys challenging situations and driving outcomes. What makes him uniquely different and therefore better, is his creative approach in combining a) knowledge of the law, b) experiences in past cases, and c) new techniques he discovers on the job, and applying these to current cases. He is therefore continuously improving his delivery timelines and performance because he is always in “learning mode.”

Filing the K-1 Visa is no easy task that happens overnight, but working with Matthew gave us the confidence to proceed. From introductory emails explaining the process, to preliminary collection of information to the actual filing of the case and the case moving from desk to desk across 2 countries, our K-1 Visa was approved and issued in 5 months. The process was smoother and quicker than expected and Matthew played a pivotal role through his proactive engagement, personal follow-ups & adherence to timelines. Matthew’s delivery and services well exceeded our expectations.

We would like to stress here that a client’s cooperation is also important in the success of the case, determining how fast or slow it may move. Matthew may do his best, bringing all he has to the table, but the client(s) must also be on the same page and put in equal if not more effort in driving results.

In the end what made all the difference in getting our job done, was a great working relationship with Matthew. Obtaining this Visa was a process we actually enjoyed and would highly recommend that if it is results you are looking for, Matthew Udall is unflinchingly, unapologetically your guy!!

Mr. Udall’s professionalism from the very beginning made it easy to trust his work and advice. The K-1 process was much faster than we anticipated and without his advice, we would have been waiting a lot longer. Throughout the whole process, my fiancée and I continued to conduct research to see how long other couples had been waiting during this process and it seems like our case was faster than anyone we’ve seen. I attribute this to Mr. Udall’s attention to detail and his continued advice throughout the K-1 process. There was even a point where my fiancée and I were waiting for a letter from the U.S. Embassy in Manila to let her know that she was able to make her interview appointment. We were basically waiting for something that wasn’t going to come. It wasn’t long into our wait when Mr. Udall advised us to make the interview anyway. It is a good thing we had him, because the letter was lost in the mail and we never received it. If we had listened to every blog we read about this letter being a “must” before scheduling her interview, it would have taken us a lot longer to be together. We knew that with every step during this process, Mr. Udall had the knowledge and did the research necessary to move out case along in the most expedient way possible.

Anyone in this position knows that time is of the essence. Mr. Udall understands this as well and we can’t thank him enough.

As for Mirasol and I, we are still waiting for our marriage certificate to come in the mail so that we can send out the change of status documents. Thanks again for all of the help that you gave us.
Best wishes, Lawrence and Mirasol.

First of all Mr. Udall is a very honest trustworthy attorney which both of us value mostly if we need any kind of attorney in our life. Secondly Mr. Udall is pretty calming down attorney with a clear mind and responsible attitude towards us, which help keeping our case in a very well organized pace of processing a lot, also that brings us a lot of peace as well. Thirdly, Mr. Udall respects and values his customers like us in a very positive way even though his service charge is not high. He never disappoints us in communicating, information updating, documents preparing. We can tell through his work that Mr. Udall is a very detail oriented experienced confident friendly person which a professional attorney should have. Last not least, Mr. Udall charges his services very fairly and more than that even though he makes money by being an attorney, we can tell by his work that Mr. Udall has a good heart to care about people rather than money. We do like him a lot!

Although I am a California lawyer with many years of courtroom experience, I knew very little about immigration law before retaining the services of Attorney Matthew Udall. I had previously worked with another immigration lawyer, with whom I was not satisfied, and have consulted with several others. All immigration lawyers are not the same. Many promise what they cannot deliver. I doubt you can find another who knows immigration law better than Matthew Udall; or is easier to work with. He explains, in writing, in clear, understandable, simple language, the process, and what to expect. His fees are fair and reasonable. Your amazing knowledge of what was required for her to obtain the card and your guidance throughout the entire process has been nothing but superb. If we had to do it all over again, you can bet you would be our only choice as our immigration attorney. Keep up the excellent work!

I've reported on the progress of bringing my wife from the Philippines in my column (X) in the (X) newspaper (MDUdall - I've omitted the column name and newspaper name due to privacy concerns). It has brought several e-mails and calls during the I-129f process wondering how I got her home in 5 months. I said I hired an immigration attorney. People in the local PHIL-AM community told me not to waste the money on the greencard process because "none of these attorneys around here know anything about immigration". I said my guy is in Pasadena and the response was, "Oh…. California!". One of Janeth's friends has been here two years and is still unable to work. You have to figure that if the attorney saves only two months, his fee is paid for by having that second income coming into the home. I love what Janeth has done to improve the home, but she also has job skills and a desire to not only contribute, but to send money home. Time is money.

The assurance of a completed application was very important to us as we did not want any hold-ups in an already slow and tedious process… having you Matthew, assisting us in preparation, answering our many questions, your attention to detail, and personal guidance in our application made the filing quick and efficient. When visiting Vancouver for my interview with the Consulate, I was told by the clerk that I shouldn't have any problems with my Fiancée Visa as my package was "so complete" with no questions left unanswered.

That is why it was without hesitation that we again asked you to represent us in the next stages - Application for Permanent Resident Status, Advance Parole and Temporary Work Permit. Again you took away the stress of it all. Thank you so much. We would strongly recommend you to any individual who is looking for a true professional who knows the immigration system and will guide them through it - from beginning to end!

Retaining Mr. Udall's services was the best decision we made (after deciding to tie the knot!).
